This popular circular or figure of eight walk explores the Oxwich Bay nature reserve utilising the Wales Coast Path. Upon our arrival the tide was very low so set out to walk along the firm beach before arriving at Nicholstan Woods. Passing the Burrows and the Dunes, the channel inlet can be crossed by the first of a pair of footbridges, the second crosses a reed edged drainage channel, to eventually reach the lower gravel track at the base of the limestone slope of Nicholstan Woods. The lower track rises gently through the woodland to reach a junction whereupon a sharp right leads onto the higher track. This path twist and turns, bobbing up and down offering occasional glimpses across the beautiful Bay towards Oxwich.

Reaching a platform just of the path, offers an extensive panoramic view from Three Cliffs Bay and Pwildu Head to Oxwich Point. From here there are several options on continuing through the Woods or descending down the slope to rejoin the sandy Wales Coast Path.

Crossing the inlet once again, there is the choice of following on the Coast Path through the Dunes and Nature reserve or returning via the sandy Bay back to the Car Park and well positioned cafe much enjoyed by swimmers, surfers and dog walkers.
