Palas de Rei to Santiago - 70.1km (43.6 miles)

Day 3: Palas de Rei - Melide - Arzua

29.4km (18.4 miles)

Leaving the functional Pension Palas, this third stage is the longest days walking at almost 30km. Crossing 6 shallow river valleys and for the most part walking through beautiful woodland, the route passes on through delightful historic Melide, a perfect location for a lunchtime rest and refuel. Extensive woodland walking with a slowly increasing number of fellow walkers and pilgrims brings this stage to a close with a final steep roadside climb into Arzua.
